Kaizer Chiefs have been active in the transfer market, securing the services of seven new players as they aim to revitalize their squad. These acquisitions bring significant depth to their roster, almost creating a full new starting lineup.
The first player to sign was left-back Bongani Sam, who made a move from Chiefs’ archrivals, Orlando Pirates. Sam quickly integrated with his new team, even traveling with them for pre-season preparations in Turkey. Unfortunately, his progress was hampered by an injury that cut short his participation.
Following Sam’s arrival, Rushwin Dortley became the next addition, joining from Cape Town Spurs. Chiefs continued their recruitment drive by strengthening their goalkeeping options, signing Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy.
The club then went on a signing spree, bringing in several more players. Among them were Gaston Sirino, a creative force expected to enhance their attacking options, and Inacio Miguel, Bradley Cross, and Njabulo Blom, all of whom add versatility and skill to the squad.
However, despite their successful signings, the Chiefs did face some setbacks in the transfer window. One notable target they missed out on was Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana. Chiefs were publicly linked with the former Sekhukhune United star, but he ultimately decided to join Esperance in Tunisia instead.
While Chiefs have bolstered their squad with these signings, their transfer activity indicates they are intent on addressing both their strengths and weaknesses as they prepare for the challenges ahead.
